Got this desk because I really missed having a hutch to display my figures and this one had so much space and room to put things I had to get it. This desk is absolutely perfect in that regard. It looks beautiful and I'm so happy about the ability to switch the bookcase to the other side if desired. The desk is pretty sturdy once you build it up enough. I would recommend building flat on the floor if you have space rather than upright [I sadly didn't, but I still managed to build it that way]. If you have someone to help you I would recommend that as well. It's doable with one person but holding many of the parts and shelves in place is way more feasible with another person helping you line it up and keep it there while you screw the nails in. I would say the difficulty in building it is a 4/5 if alone, and maybe a 3/5 if with someone else.I will warn that the instructions do NOT have a version if you want to flip the bookcase to the other side so you have to guesstimate how things would look in reverse on your own. It is doable and works perfectly reversed, there are just no instructions showing it going that way so it was a little bit of a hassle initially. The desk comes in two very heavy boxes so be ready. And double-check that you have all your parts before building. Mine came with 3 missing screws and I had to message the seller to get some more [they took a long time to get here since they had to get them internationally]. Thankfully they were super nice and tried their best to get them to me as quickly as possible. I was lucky the parts I was missing were just for the side shelves so I was still able to use this desk for work, just not for display until they got in.If you're really tall the leg room under the desk may be an issue. I'm short but I often hit the bottom shelf with my legs when I cross them unintentionally [the main reason I cause everything to fall over lol] so it would be good to keep that in mind! And the cpu tower isn't big enough for a slightly larger than the average custom computer which was expected but if anyone has a big rig like mine don't expect to place it there. But overall, I love all the storage and space I can put my figures. And the large work surface is amazing [finally able to fit my two monitors, keyboard, side gaming keyboard, and tablet all in one spot with some wiggle room haha!]Great sturdy product however the back bottom panel cover most outlets so to have it placed up against the wall and plug something in is a little difficult. During set up the directions were easy to follow but it’s hard to tell the correct way to face some of the bars and we had to take it apart in two different places to get them on the correct way.Firstly, THIS COMES IN TWO SEPARATE PACKAGES. That’s important because my second package showed up a couple days later so I originally thought I was missing a ton of pieces. Here are some pros and cons of this desk after having used it for a week.Pros: amazing amount of storage, if you don’t have a lot of space for an L shaped desk this will do the trick! Loads of space to fit my mac and printer with plenty of space left for my camera collectionFeels solid the wood is particle board as expected but feels really solid along with the metal frameLow profile, although the desk has a ton of storage it takes up virtually no space I have mine in a corner of my living room and I still have a ton of room. This is MUCH more efficient than an L shape desk.Cons: The instructions are pretty bad and you will definitely need more than one person to help set it up.The shelf doesn’t have enough clearance for a 27” iMac so you’ll have to keep your iMac more forward on the desk because it wont fit under the shelf. The fact that it comes in two boxes is confusing and inconvenient because it’s not noted anywhere and increases the risk of shipping error which would ultimately make the desk useless if you miss a box.Last con is not really a con but a preference, I would have loved to see an additional drawer the one it has is a bit small so two would have taken this to the next levelUPDATE #2 - the replacement top shelf arrived today (3 day weather delay) so I changed the overall rating to a 5 and the company deserves mentioning how outstanding they have been with replacing the part, they were prompt in answering emails and sending out the replacementUPDATE - I contacted the company about the top panel/shelf where the screw/bolt went through, they answered quickly, within a day, and offered to replace the panel and ship immediately, I contacted them from Amazon and their own website/storefront. I have to say I was very impressed with their prompt responses (both avenues responded to me immediately). Don't be skeptical about this item or company, their customer service has been great, I'll update again when the new top shows up.I was a bit skeptical buying this because of the mixed reviews, and it being a 3rd party vendor. It arrived in a couple of days in 2 heavy boxes. There was no damage, it was totally packed with styrofoam and wrapped very well. Instructions were sketchy but I'm pretty handy. I suggest you need 2 people to assemble, but I didn't have that option. I spent a good hour on the skeleton of it, then decided I wanted the shelved on the other side and that set me back another hour and a half. Yes there are a lot of screws as someone mentioned, but it's a BIG desk. The manufacturer included at least 1 extra screw/piece for each bags. Some bags and parts were NOT MARKED with corresponding letters/numbers in the instructions so I had to guess based on the tiny diagrams. The only cons:the top shelf is very high, I had planned on putting my printer up there but I would need a step stool (I'm 5'5') in order to use itthe 'desk' area was a mm too 'wide' and I had to hammer the heck out of it (with a wood block so as not to damage) to get it to fit, and I wasn't able to line up the screws underneath to attach it, but it's in so tightly I doubt that's an issue, though it has already warped a bitthe top shelf, I used the screws that were listed to attach it from underneath, out of the 6 (larger piece, there are 2 pieces for the top), one poked through and damaged the surface above, I tried to turn the shelf around so at least it would be towards the back but it only goes one way, I am thinking of asking the vendor for a replacement as I don't feel this was my fault - the other 5 screws/bolts were fineSomeone also complained about it being wobbly, I didn't find that at all, I think it's very sturdy, I didn't see much that could accommodate 2 monitors without having no shelves or being enormous, this was the ONLY desk that fit that bill. I would have given it 5 stars without the cons
